Uplifts are designed to show you the impact of a facelift/new generation on residual values.
As new facelifts and generations get added to the market, you can see the value of a vehicle jump and experience larger changes in a short period of time. This can be misleading when trying to evaluate the trend lines of a specific vehicle or range of vehicles. However this can be countered by utilising the Uplifts features within the various reports.
The idea of uplifts is to average out the values for the vehicles in question over the change from one generation to the next. This will ignore values until a certain percentage (e.g. 50%) of the market can be valued using the new vehicles. This will produce a much sharper, cleaner trend line showing a more realistic picture of the market values.
The uplift percentage setting determines at what point between the outgoing model and incoming model values change.
